Been playing with a voltmeter today as my p38 is running rich and I suspected injector fault. All injectors have a permanent feed to them with ignition on so fuel is just flooding into the engine hence running at 9.5%! are there any known faults to cause this? Many thanks in advance.

What you need to know is that the ecu feeds both sides of the injectors with battery voltage.it removes the voltage to one side to create a potential difference across the resistance of the injector solenoid windings - opening the injector. So seeing battery voltage at the injectors with the ignition on is exactly what i would expect to see.
High fuel consumption is more likely caused by a failed oxygen sensor or an air leak etc.

I am going with 8 on this one. As I understand it, the injectors are supplied with a voltage but are only fired when that voltage is given a return path via the ecu so what your finding is correct. You have a problem elsewhere most likely o2 sensors.

Thanks for replys, only thing that's concerning me is if I connect a pressure gauge to rail and prime it it reads 2.5 bar. If I do this and clamp feed and return pipes to the rail the pressure drops to nothing very quickly? Where is the fuel going to loose the pressure? Hence me thinking injectors are open? I have live to one side and earth to other on each injector.
