performance intercoolers

So you don't think a bigger cooler is a good thing ????

A standard Landy needs a standard IC in good condition (as per LRs design boffins) to do the job it was intended. If someone then wants to go to the expense of spending a whole load of cash on a big IC for extra performance (without adding any other supporting mods) then you have to question the reasoning IMO, i.e. is the expense worth the very small gains.

The OP has already knocked any real chance of adding immediate ‘bottom-end’ performance increases, albeit small in the first instance, by the fact of him adding the huge tyres, therefore, the IC to me is more of a bling-thing than anything else (well, almost!). That being said, if his current IC is on its arse then a new unit will certainly make a difference of bringing the car back to its factory performance levels, within reason, and pre-big tyres.

nope...fitting a larger intercooler to a 2 tonne barge with the aerodynamics of a brick is just plain silly.

a good service and clean up of existing parts will provide more gains than just slapping on a bigger intercooler

As Wiltshire landyman say's totally pointless, trust me been there, put a massive Intercooler on my 200 tdi and has done jack just added a bit of lag don't bother just give all the original parts a good clean.

cheers for the advice, much appreciated. you've saved me a lot of money and time by talking me out of it. what about the opening of the pump thingy? is that a waste of time too?

I want to turn up my turbo up to about 20psi and have turned up pump do you not think I will need a bigger IC to keep egt down ??
