people that try to make landies into boats!?

am i missing the point or something, why on earth do people buy kits that will make there defenders into boats!? if you wanna go across the channel or watery expanse then why not just buy a bloody boat or a really good wetsuit! i think i must be missing the point just seems like a waste of money and a pointless task to be honest, but hey ho what ever floats your boat! (just had to get this rant off my chest!)

I can honestly say I know of no-one who has tried to make their Landy into a boat. I know people do that sort of thing, look at Top Gear, but I don't, or haven't heard, of anyone I know personally doing it.

no me neither but i was looking in the latest landrover owner international and theres an advert of some company trying to sell kits (basically oil drums which fit onto the side of the defender) and i just thought wats the bloody point, buy a rowing boat or something!!!

More time/money than sense?

If you live in bangladesh or other areas that are prone to flooding or where river crossing have to be under taken because bridges regularly get washed away. Then I would have thought they were a great idea. And don't the royal marines do something similar with floatation bags on their 90's for seaborne landings?

marines use normal wolfs just make them watertight theres an article on it in one of the landy mags, its amazing they quite literally drive them underwater!! no need for stupid bags and floatation devices!

Aye I've seen them but they've also have ones with floatation bags as well.

yer thats well waterproofed but i doubt the chassis n bulkhead will like it very much n rest but they have done a good job none the less
