Looking after the kids during easter hols makes you do weird things Sam.
Even washing and polishing the Land Rover is better than listening to my pair
arguing and fighting. At least in the garage I can see them but not hear them!

Surprised myself actually mate.... It came out rather well, even polished out some scuff
marks from branches.

Haha, fair point!

Yes the LR paint is grea stuff, really rather sturdy and always polishes well, it really responds to a coat of wax.

We have an L reg 110 at the moment that hasn't been touched since new and even a quick buff with some restoration wax brings up and lovely shine.

Will look awesome when done all over!

Lil update, bearing bought and oil seal (genuine landrover too!!) just got to get some oil and im ready to start, also bought some good quality GKN ujs to put in the front prop, not happy with the budget ones thats in there now (job for mi dad to do :) ) fingers crossed I wont hit any other probs :S

Need to get a CB, a friend has very kindly offered a long term loan of his, replace my boots that i melted in the camp fire last time out :( and sort my steering problem hopefully for good tomorrow.

that leaves next week for final checks :)

Well in Pete.
Looking back its starting to sound like were a load of paranoid blokes with vehicles that we don't think will be able to make the journey. lol
LETS NOT FORGET WE OWN LAND ROVERS...........THE BEST 4X4XFAR!

Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Should I pack a spare UJ and wheel bearing in my tool box for the trip????

Just for the record I will be bringing an impact gun, set of sockets, spanners and the usual kit, so should we have a "problem" we should be able to bodge or repair it.
The one thing I don't have is the land rover bottle jack because I will not work under a hi-lift but with my lift I don't need to.

I carry TWO spare swivel balls amongst all my other kit these days, they've been trouble so far!

Track rod ends, CVs, stub shafts, UJs, wheel bearings and all the associated seals make up the rest of the kit.

Would be nice to carry half shafts but I'm put off by the weight!

So whos bringing the kitchen sink??? Lol I always bring my tools with me on an outing, inc the trolly jack and bottle (but like you al I can get under with out) prop is comin off sunday night, the bearing is coming out either that night or monday afternoon (depends if it plays nice for me) then just leaves the last minute checks

No doubt the disco will make it there and back, the only thing that broke when I last came to the lakes was my handbrake cable and even then it was on its way a good couple of mnths before hand

Well going to replace my diff seals tonight and have a last minute check over ready for weekend.
Anyone got any ideas about traveling up yet routes and times etc?
Pete, how's your transfer box bearings job gone?
