Peace of Mind anybody got a Block Tester?

Hi All started a new topic in the wrong place maybe? Has anyone in the West Midlands area got a V8 Block tested kit that i can lend? I've just ordered a shed load of parts and i'm still confused what caused 2 cylinders to get water in and then gas the water when hot. I'm hoping it is the head at fault and that the overhauled units will fix it but i like to be 100% sure.

Do you mean that your coolant was pressuring due to head gasket failure ?

Well thats the problem, 2 valve sets shows that i had water in the cylinders but the head gasket was ok with no signs of breakdown.
i cant see any cracks in the head unless it's internal. liners look ok but need to prove if they are ok, so need to do a block test as parts on this web site

When you say block tester.....do you mean coolant system pressure tester or the liquid 'sniffer' test ??

Change Of plan, Has any body got an old water pump? I'll pay the P&P and once i've got a kit made up i'll be more than happy to share so we can keep a Great British icon going

Ahhh....sorry, just seen the link of what you require......sorry I don't have a water pump available...!!

Also what year of engine do you need as they changed a few times over the course of their run....

Maybe a scrappy or an Ebay auction might surface something.

What are you looking to test?

Might start looking at making a kit myself & save £75 . . . but then I know the block also needs 2-3 helicoils replacing with decent inserts, plus the heads might need skimming.
