PCV valve fix

I'm trying to remember from when I changed my front cam cover gasket, but I think on mine that pipe fitted the same as the other one, i.e. push in the collar and pull out the pipe.

Sorry if I misunderstood - common occurrence!

Ah so you mean the other half of LYC100510L, you took the "red" part, and then you need to remove the other half ?

If that is what you are doing, it says those fitting are pressed in, which means using a screw driver or something to pry out I am guessing, if you look at the picture of the new fitting, there are no treads or anything..

Yeah I'm trying to remove the other part. So maybe try a screw driver. It's hard to pull out because they have these metal pieces facing outward.

What about pushing from "behind" "under" the cam cover? Use a socket and pound out the pcv part?

I am trying to give you ideas here.

What does it look like from "behind" or from "under" the cam cover

Is it possible to chisel the top off and bash the rest through?

I thought about sawing off the top part of the PCV pipe and pushing it threw with a rubber mallet but the PCV pipe is secured all te way around and some sticks out of the hole as shown on the picture. It's really frustrating I tried muscling it out but that was a no lol that metal part holds this.

carefully drill the old PVC or use chisel on it? or failing this make driff and race puller using a bolt, 2 nut, washers and a piece of pipe ?

If you look at the ebay picture (attached too), the camshaft cover does not have that metal "mesh"

Try removing the metal mesh? It looks as though it performs some sort of filtering function.

I believe the mesh does work as a filter also. I'm gonna try chisel it out.

That is breather gauze, it stops oil and crud going up the pipe.
I remember it well, cos I forgot to put mine back in until I found it after.
Then the neighbours learned a new word.

Can I reuse it by cleaning it? Or is a non serviceable part like the rest of the car lol I'm just frustrated with this little PCV bugger ATM

I cleaned mine by soaking it in engine cleaner.
Don't know if you're supposed to or not but it looked loads better after

I cleaned the cleaner off with WD40 - didn't use water as I thought it might rust and disintegrate (you know - that thing that happens to tratters).

If the worst comes to the worst, just drill the fitting out and tap the hole to suit one of these which will be more than capable of doing the job........

All you need to know is the outside diameter of the tube that will fit into it and the diameter of the hole in the PCV. You also need to find someone-local engineering shop ?? who has any B.S.P. taps or you can buy the size you want from a good Engineering supplies company.
Here's an example to give you some ideas...the size of tap is relative to the size of the hole in the PCV. You may have to open it out slightly to tap it.

Pity you are so far away...I would have willingly lent you a BSP tap !!!

Are you able to measure (in mm) while you have the camshaft cover out,

1) The outside diameters of both pipes
2) The inside diameters of both holes in the camshaft cover?

Info like this is priceless. I have this "dream" of replacing most of the plastic as possible.....

Replacement plastic pneumatic tubing is dirt cheap and easily available as are the push in fittings if ever you need to change them (Unlikely).
Tapping drill sizes:

1/8" BSP=8.8mm or 11/32" (.344") diameter
1/4" BSP=11.8mm or 29/64" (.453") diameter

Don't know if Canada is the same as the USA who use the Imperial measurements mainly.

**The USA use different pipe threads, NPT & SAE instead of BSP**
