Well after mulling the idea for a while to get me over the Xmas period and get some heat into the car, I plunged in while the weather down here promised not to rain all day...so I took a half day from work and got started....
Disconnected battery
Unbolted the Black panel that holds the OBD socket and popped that down
Unbolted the Glove Box hinges and balanced on top of my head
Fumbled around with hand above my head to press the Glove Box release button to open it
Released the Glove Box ram
Placed Glove Box draw onto back seat
Unscrewed Glove Box inner surround
Disconnected the Release cable mech and light connector
Placed on back seat
Slid the SRS red connector from the dash support
Realised I didn't have an E10 Torx Socket to get the Airbag out
Put Battery back on and headed to nearest Autofactors (CAFCO to be exact)
Bought E10 Scoket for £3.99
Back home and disconnected battery
Removed the 4 Mounting bolts for the Airbag
Levered off the Wooden venier under the Airbag (careful you don't damage or chip it - I did but thankfully it is hidden when it is all back together)
Swear and curse at the stupid bit of Venier that just wont fecking budge
Break one of the mounting pins on the back of the venier - shrug and think it could have been worse
Carefully lift the Aribag from the Dash and be sure not to snag the yellow cable and place on dashboard - no need to disconnect
The little Blend motor can now be seen
The lwer screw was easy just reach in under the plaxtic ductwork and Bobs your uncle
The top screw was a little difficult as the Duct sits over the top so I used a small philips screw driver and kinda pushed it on at an angle
A few gentle turns - don't try to rush it as it is only brass alloy and the head will strip easily
A little frustrating with the screw driiver slipping everynow and then and finished off with a pair of Long Nose Pliers to do the final turn and hey presto the screws out
Removed the Blend Motor
Moved flap lever to the hot (rearward) position and cable tied in place to the hand plastic spigot right next to the lever
Cable tied Blend Motor out of the way...
Airbag in
Glove Box inner surrond on
Glove Box back on (balanced on head again while putting the bolts back in)
Lower Panel back on
Reconnect battery
Resync Keys
Set windows and sunroof
Start engine and what for the warmth......
Yaahhoooo, a warm passanger side....so now to get warmth, close the drivers side vents, open passanger side - want it cooler close passanger open drivers - and any variation inbetween...
Scale of one to ten (1 easy - 10 hard) = 3 - becasue of balancing glove box and getting the final screw out
