Passenger Heated Seat

Hi My passenger heated seat is not working.

The drivers seat is fine gets hot nice an fast but the other doesnt work.

Any ideas are they on separate fuses if so where are they?

Or am i looking at a new heater bit in the seat?

i dont really mind but the misses is getting cold now the weather is on the turn.lol

True, might work, but ill probably get dumped for saying that, an then she will **** in my car out of spite, then my car will smell of ****, an when i try an get a new girl friend she wont like me cause my seats will be yellow an smell like a trams jeans on Tuesday night!

So... Ill jus try an fix them...or...better still...tell her to stop moaning an sit on her hands an get a coat!lol

Hi folks i have the same problem, i took it to an auto electrition who said the fuses are all ok its the seat element thats broken, looking at £ 100 to fix both the seats, hope it helps .

Yes, there is a very long wire inside the seat and over time it breaks in two places.

You need to remove the seat from the car, then remove the cover from the seat. Do an easy re-join and the all back together.

The repair is easy, its getting to it.

There is a link that shows this job being done, someone will post it soon do doubt.

you can get to it by just peeling back the seat leather, you'll need to remove seat from car and seat base. in my experience tho it doesnt last long so if anyone knows where to get the wire from its prolly best to replace the wire! ive done it a few times on mine!

A revised and much more modern foam pad about 1/2" thick can be bought with the heater element inside.

If you add a good length of wire (3-4") that goes down into the seat pad, rather than just across the gap in the foam, it should last OK.

ive added wire, cut the foam and tucked it in there to avoid wear on the metal rods. quite a few tricks. i think the wire has gone beyond it useful life!!!

might try it again over the w/end
