I'd put a years MOT on it.

If you think it'll pass no problem then do it, otherwise it looks like you're unsure, and that might may bidders unsure.

You could put some tax on it, and offer the tax disc for sale at cost price on top of the final price.

I've done that a few times before, I wouldn't expect road tax in a private sale....but I buy cheap cars!

Incidentally, what possible excuse can there be for not paying up? I'd love to hear what they say.

I had a mate who sold his Series 3 on eBay and the guy that won the bid turned up and then started haggling!
 
Yes to tax and test. It's a no-brainer selling point.
Change your ebay options to only allow bidders with decent feedback.
Report non payers to ebay, you'll get your fees back and stop them ****ing about again.
You could add a buy it now price as well.

I've always insisted on Paypal payment only to prohibit against this

Then you hand a big chunk of money over to paypal. If its cash on collection then once they've paid (which I admit isn't always straightforward when selling motors on ebay) the money is securely yours. If they pay with paypal then they can open a dispute and cause all sorts of problems and the payment can be frozen/refunded.
 
The bay of E is not what it used to be....forget selling it on egay you will only get heartache and frustration....

If you must use eblag, report the losers - try we buy any car, then laugh at their offering, set a reserve....

I would never sell a car on e-****e, far to risky!

Unless it was going for banger money I wouldn't bid on a car with no reserve and a 99p start - I'd assume the seller is trying to get shot of a pile of **** - it'll also attract tyre-kickers, dreamers and wasters like flies.

Prob T&T it, but get money for tax as someone mentioned, start price is a must IMO, Set account to only accept Paypal account holders, and also i would set a minimum of 10 pos. feedback. All these things can be set when you set up ad. Start it at 6k. All those 'NO RESERVE', bad! Rest was fine.

try 'SIMPLE' and 'HONEST',,, ld pursue Ebay for your listing costs,
Good luck you need it.:)

I wouldn't even mind it going for 6k if the buyer showed up and it was an easy transac,

I totally missed the part where tax was £480 a year.. mother****ers

As for the MOT i'm certain it will pass I'm a stickler for making sure the car is up to standards as my 20 year old girlfriend drives it. (I'm only 23 so this isn't a brag about younger women, haha) so i'll happily stick a year on for the sake of £50 or whatever it is.

Can you really get away with charging for the tax disc on top?

also, where are the options for blocking people's bids etc located?

and those of the impression that sunday to sunday listing is best, I can do that but tommorow really would be my last chance to list it, otherwise she's going to have to grow old in storage. i refuse to accept webuyanycar price.

Plus, if you leave the car for a year, by the time you return it will be worth half a year later

Best to shift while you can, unless you want to keep it
 
For setting bid preferences; easiest way to go on ebay site, click on your 'Account'; then 'site preferences' and scroll down to 'buyer requirements' where you can do the edits.
 
Say it will have 1 years Mot, and book it in Monday.
Offer to tax it for the winner at THEIR cost, or negotiable.depending on it reaching a fair price....( my tax is £150 for 6 months BTW)

You will find the settings regarding blocking certain bidders, ( My account, select 'preferences' as Kev says ))

In RED, at bottom of ad, clearly state that time wasters will be reported.

Start bids at 4999, much of your ad was fine before,

Sunday to sunday is last chance saloon, ( State clearly why you are selling )

BID to BUY, not to haggle,, viewing recommended? Deposit with cash on collect.

I've sold 2 vehicles on French Ebay with no problems.

You can take the tax disc and get a refund:)
 
Put 6 months tax on it. If I was buying I'd be more interested in the fresh passed mot.
Agree with datatek, don't mention emigrating.
If you say you would be happy with 6ish k then put a buy it now price of 6.8 as well as auction.
