Part or Full Synthetic oil??

I'm thinking of using a fully synthetic 5W/40 grade oil in my TD5 02 Defender and wondered if anyone thinks this will be the wrong or right thing to do??

Apparently a part synthetic 5W/30 is reccomended by Landrover. Is this right and is it better to use a full synthetic???

I would just go for what they recommend. 5W-30 is the viscosity you need though not 5w-40.

These oils are the ones recommended for your engine, they're really good semi synthetic oils. My preference would be the Shell because i've used both and the Shell made it run quieter, also you can buy it from just about any Shell garage

Shell Helix F 5W-30
Mobil Super FE Special 5W-30
