Parking sensors

Hi my parking sensors have started playing up most of the time they are great but occasionally when reverse is selected the light flashes and bleeps to say there is a fault strangely if you turn ignition off and then back too position two press sensor button they are working fine start car fault occurs again this is not all the time but can be frustrating

might be reversing ECU or damaged cabling in the rear bumper is also a common problem

Fixed mine today. Took bumper off to find one of the wires in the rear sensor was cut. Resoldered it, got bumper back on and......
STILL continuous beep from the rear!
After further investigation, it turned out to be the paint on a different rear sensor had oxidised a little and flaked. This was tricking the sensor into thinking something was in the way of the sensor, hence the continuos beep.
Scraped the paint off the sensor and hey presto! All is good.

So, moral is, check the paint on your sensors and see if that is interfering in any way.
