Ayup,
I've just put new parabolics and shocks on my swb and it seems quite a bit higher than before at the rear and the shocks seem to be stretched to their limit. Is this norm or have I ballsed it up somehow?

You need extened shocks, Parabolics give around a 2 Inch lift... You may also need extended brake hoses.

Take extreme care right now!
Your brake hoses should be OK as long as the standard dampers (shocks) are in place, because the dampers determine how far down the suspension can go.

As soon as you fit extended dampers, you MUST make sure that on full axle DROP and then some more, there is still plenty of available slack on the hoses. If not, replace them with longer ones. Do that anyway is the best plan. Ripping two hoses apart on a hump-back bridge could leave you with instant NO BRAKES.

Thanks guys, I've not had chance to run it around yet to see what it's like. Will my standard shocks be ok for now? My money has now seriously run out and with new babba on the way in october (fingers crossed) there won't be much more for a while.. lol

Yes they will be fine.
Just on full axle drop they will bottom-out 2" sooner.

It won't matter a lot but if you go off-roading it will batter the damper bushes a bit more than usual.

Apart from that enjoy having some suspension that moves!

Brilliant! Thanks for letting me know that, I'm not likely to go off roading in it, it'd probably break down if it had to look at a hill never mind have to actually climb one lol...

what?????????? why have one of the most capable off-road vehicles in the world then not use it off road???? thats like having jenna jameson as yer burd and not poring it at every opportunity

he probly doesnt no what to other levers are for why doesnt he just give it to me

Ayup,
Let's address the responses in order, the previous owner took it off road and that's why it's cost me £100's so far to put right all the damage and neglect, so no off roading for the foreseeable, and Jenna Jameson?? ugh!!! wot a slapper!!! take a look at Ozzy osbournes older daughter Aimee, now that's a bird. Yes i had the weight on the springs when I did the shackle bolts up and Yes I do know what the other levers are for..
I drove it properly today and what a difference!! It wentr from being a tank to a rolls royce....
Watch this space for more stupid questions and please feel free to take the ****....
love you all

Lol tell me about it, I've got 2 too, trouble is, I don't know a thing about engines etc. But they are so addictive, bought my first one, one early sunday morning off ebay without telling the missus, god did i get a bollocking lol

Yup, my other one is on the drive slowly being used for spares, the missus is not happy, especially since she can't park on the drive lol

Aimee Osbourne - another moon-faced sourpuss if ever I saw one.

Just coz you drive a landy doesn't mean you have to like burds that have similar aerodynamics! :D
