A few years ago i bought some paint from 'the paint man' at a LRW show, i brush painted my landy and to be honest you could hardly tell it was applied with a brush as all the brush marks joined up.
Anyhow different landy now and i need to paint the roof.
I was considering spray painting but at the mo i am forced into brush painting it or roller painting it (long story).
Has anyone ever used white hammerite? Any good? does it 'yellow' over time? does it look like a brush paint job?
OR shall i go for gloss paint? is this a no no on a metal surface?
OR shall i be more patient and get some from the 'paint man' again at a show?
Any advice on what white paints i can get away with and the finish you get (hasn't got to be great it's only the roof!)

White hammerite doesn't do to well I have found, you would be better getting some cans of acrylic white gloss, I did my new bulkhead with Hycote white gloss before I fitted it and it has given it a good durable finish.

You can get halfrauds to mix you up a tin of paint, I am not sure if its acrylic or cellulose based paint (because they didn't even know) but you could get that for about £11 a litre and paint it on which would bond better with the original paint.

go to yer local agricultural merchants and get some Temac Machinery Enamel - I painted my roof in "David Brown White" using a glossing roller - looks good I reckon.

hi, all have been given a paint code for coniston green LRC 570 / HYE any one agree? if so who mixes at a reasonable price, been quoted £36 for 2 ltr dunno why ! cheers

In the end i went to JAWEL Paints (several branches throughout midlands) and bought a tin of Truckcoat Polyplus. Absolutely fantastic paint, nice gloss finish, really easy to apply, would recommend. I brush painted and would recommend a high quality brush.

I bought some acrylic for mine and was going to touch it all up, but it's been getting knocked to fook recently so it's a waste of time.

Gona paint it matt something with a roller, easy peasy to touch up. It's grey at the minute, what do you think is the best colour.

If you want it matt, easy to touch up, can't decide on a colour? Then there is only one thing for it, nato green paint! get the proper stuff too and you can't go wrong!!
