thats not a bad idea. right then, it looks like i will deflate and break bead before spray then. anyone recommend a good spray in a can? whats that smoothrite stuff like? sounds good. bare in mind, i am crap at spraying/painting so the easier to work with stuff is better!

and if yer careful yer can use yer landy to break the bead by lowering down onto it, best dun with two folk this un

Good point slob I have dun this wif a plank of wood, wif the edge of it right up to the edge of the rim then run a vehicle up it or as yer say drop yer own yen on it. A high lift jack does a better job if a mates got yen.

I fink yer might struggle wiff a car pump tho only a poofy breeze comes out orf em, and most orf the yens at petrol stations are the same. I recon it will burn out and explode long before it blows up one never mind 4.

We painted our disco wheels. Cheap Way. Flap Pads/Wire Brush attached to an angle grinder. Go around the wheels afew times, base coat paint, then Hammerite Spray :D they look a treat and cheaper than blasting an dipping. we had msot of stuff already

:)

Smoothrite is okay it is made by Hammerite so it is an enamel and sticks like smelly stuff to a blanket and gives a good finnish and a can goes a long way, use a good brush mind you do not want to keed lifting off old bristles.
BIG D

well, against all your advice i left the tyres on and managed to get a good amount of masking tape down the tyre bead :) just wired down the 1st wheel and given it 3 coats, but its not a great finish so on the 2nd one i just rubbed it down lightly and applied 2 coats so far. been using that plasticote 2in1 stuff, seems good.

last thing, do i need to apply liquer for the finish :)

Cheers,

G
