Has anyone experience of the Paddocks spring conversion kit?

I'm finding it a bit confusing and speaking to them did not fill me with confidence. The part numbers bare no resemblence to official LR numbers which is no great surprise. But the colour coding on the springs does which is where the confusion starts.

They list yellow/white on the fronts, which LR spring specs list for a defender with a spring rate of 225lbs/inch, 14.8 inches long and 8 coils.
Standard spring for a SWB Classic is blue in colour, spring rate of 133 lbs/inch, 15.4 inches long and 7.55 coils. Quite a difference and 225lbs/inch seems very heavy duty.

For the rears they list yellow/red/pink, which LR list for a discovery with a spring rate of 200/330lbs/inch (progressive), 16.34 inches long and 9.5 coils. For comparison a SWB Classic heavy duty spring is listed as red/white, 170lbs/inch, 16.95 inches long and 8.4 coils. Once again a big difference and it also seems very heavy duty.

Paddocks insist this kit is specifically made for converting an LSE to coils, will ride at standard height and offer good comfort empty or medium loaded and bares no relation to the official specifications. So why colour code them??

Before I waste £100 and trash my ride can anybody enlighten me. Better still has anyone real experience of the Paddock conversion. By the way my LSE has already been castrated, just looking to renew the springs. So its too late for the Don't do it brigade to waffle on :) Thanks.

I'm just bumping this in case some of you good folk missed it over the weekend. If not then I guess nobody's used it or got any experience of it so I shall just have to take a punt. Cheers.

Did you miss this bit then ??

;)

No I didn't miss it and I am eternally grateful to jamesmartin for taking the time to answer. I was just trying to find out if anybody had fitted this actual conversion to an LSE.

I have to be honest and say I have no idea of the real world difference between a spring with 200/300lbs per inch of spring rate and one of 150lbs per inch (standard rate of a rear spring on a SWB Classic) and I no I have a LWB Classic but a difference of up to 150 lbs makes me think it could make it quite firm. Thanks.
