Gday chaps and chap'eses

What is the setting for toe in/out on the P38 all my steering components are either new or good. The alinement dose not show any irregular wear on the tyres.
Coopers 18" Fr 28psi rear 32psi
But the car wants to tramline follow irregularities in the road and you find that your steering all the time and not just hanging on and relaxing.
Any thoughts? ie clean ones!:)

Recent post on vagueness. Look at steering box backlash adjustment, radius/panhard rod bushes, track rods and drag link.

P38s don't like certain tyres but never having driven on Coopers I can't help you on these.

What I would suggest is that you start by testing the drag link (just take one end off and see if you've got decent resistance both in and out) then, and this is purely personal, I'm now running 18" on 24psi on the front. I did it to increase the ride quality but I don't feel that I've lost anything in the handling, if anything I find it less choppy. I also bought myself a good pressure gauge and found that my local Tesco was wrong by 3 - 4 psi.

To eliminate the wheels and tyres you might want to put into your details which part of the world you are then find if there's someone who might swap wheels with you for a quick trial.

If this doesn't help, and you'll soon find this in a search, then just asbout anything slightly worn or wrong can cause issues. Sorry!

:D

Well chaps Ive checked every thing on the steering again and cant find anything at fault
So I went for the tyres and dropped the pressure down to 26 not whishing to under inflate and rub off the shoulders, now wether its psycosomatic or not I recon its much better, the tread pattern is lets say rather esoteric so I think I will sellect a more conventional rubber next time
Now running Coopers Discoverer HT plus in 18 inc.
