try pushing fob button with ignition on failing that it may have lost sync between bcem and engine ecu

syncmate tool for your vehicle specific engine type or p38 specific diagnostic kit

If it's a late 96 MY or latter to resync the key put the key in the ign and the red led should flash on the key and it will re-synchronize automatically. If it is an earlier model you have to do it manually with the key in the door, lock the door holding the lock button then unlock the door holding the unlock button. in your situation it's not very often that this is the problem it's more likely that the Becm and PCM need resetting to each other, I do quite a few after flat battery's. The EKA code won't do this as Fanatic says you need the appropriate tool to do this.

ive never had a broken bone before so i dont exactly know what im looking for
the only thing that tells me its broke is the ocasional grinding sensation when twisting my arm such as turning a key in a lock :confused::confused:

thanks will give it a shot in morn! how does the becm & ecu regain sync?

If your relay is clicking and the dash lights are dimming, or going out, it's not a sync problem, it's lack of power from the battery. Either it's flat or you haven't reconnected it properly.
