Evening fellas,

Just a quick enquiry as to what underbody protection I'll need for laning,I'm guessing I'll need a front diff guard and steering rack protection but your opinions on what I could get away with would be appreciated.
What would you advise I fit and where can I get what I need?thanks.

P.S,I checked loads of old posts but didn't find anything specific.

I'll be getting a P38 soon, the only protection I intend on adding are front and rear diff guards and possibly a steering/sump guard if I can find one.

However, the advantage with the P38 is the air suspension - and I intend on getting a lead from Datatek and the software from the internet that allows you to alter the ride height presets, and will add an extra inch or so to the "off-road" setting to give more ground clearance and increased wading depth.

This should mean all the underbody parts will be well-clear for greenlaning, the only "fixed" bits being the diffs which will be protected by the diff guards.

We went on a fairl severe greenlaning weekend to Wales in my mates Disco 1 recently, glad we had diff guards and did hit the sump guard on a protruding rock once, but no other contact at all - with raised air suspension I doubt we would've caught any underbody parts bar the diffs!

It depends how extreme the lanes you want to go on are.

I've not got any protection on mine and had no problems at all.

996Turbo does some underbody protection, winches etc for P38s if you're really serious.

There is a French LandyZone member who does protection for the P38, just can't recall his name for the moment. I'll try to find it, he posts quite often.
