i've just replaced my p38 track rod assembly, and now my steering wheel is offset a bit towards the offside.
is this down to the rod end needing adjusting, if so, which way, wind it in or out?
or should i just get a garage to do it?
cheers fellas.

You did remember to count the number of threads showing on the old track rod end before taking it off and put the new one to the same thread number didn't you ? :)

Counting the threads is not a good way to set tracking or to set the steering wheel straight. You could always use the factory data....

Cant you center the steering wheel by adjusting the rod that connectes to the steering box, i am sure i did, i drove up the road with my spanners and kept ajusting it untill i got it bang on, i found if you center the steering wheel when the suspension is in normal position its slightly out in motorway mode.

First things first...get the tracking checked and if necessary, adjusted.
If the steering wheel is still slightly out, slacken the clamp bolts on the steering shaft and relocate it on the spline which is quite fine pitch and should get you right.
