P38 Starting problems

Hi all

I have just purchased a P38 2.5 DT 1995 which had no battery in it!! I have fitted a new battery and tried to start it, the dash board went into hyper drive with all the faults windows etc, when I tried to crank it one of the messages said press remote!! tried that and nothing happened. I have checked the remote batteries which are good but it will not lock or unlock the car either via remote or manually in the drivers door (will only lock drivers door not the whole car). There was not a message saying sync the key?!!!

There are probably loads of threads on here so if some one can put in in the right direction that would be great.

Did not pay a lot for the P38 seems a shame to bin it as it is in good condition!!

Try locking the car with the key whilst holding the lock button down on the remote. The not set messages on the dash are easily cleared by holding each window/ sunroof button down to fully open then fully close.

Check the drivers door lock, you my have a micro switch problem, also check the white block connections "A" post drivers side footwell. See if the r/f receiver is connected, under o/s rear parcel shelf support

+1 to the RF receiver, but it may be a matter of re-syncing the FOB.

Thanks for the reply fellas, will have a look at the RF receiver and look at he other bits door lock etc!!

Mozz im based in Chichester West Sussex!! do any of you know of someone near by that may be able to assist me if I need a hand etc?

Buying it without a battery is a concern.

You say you bought it cheap, just how cheap? I'm 25 minute drive from you if really needed.
