P38 Removed RL19 to stop car now will not start

Please can anyone help just done 450 miles in 4.6 P38 gone home took the keys out and everything turn off except the engine. had a mess around putting keys in and out switching things on and off but still the engine was running.

In the end I took out Relay 19 which stopped the engine but now the car wont start tried swopping the relay and putting the key code back in (although it wasn't showing any faults)

Everything lights up on the dash but the starter is disabled

Have you tried fitting a different relay in place of RL19?

If the relay got cooked, that may be why it failed ON. It now won't work.

Try another, it's a fairly common thing on P38's, have a sniff oif the relay that you took out and see if it has signs of overheating.

'Mike Manifold' column in LRM highlighted this issue a few months back IIRC.

Yes I swopped it with a couple of different relays I also tried swopping the Key relay but still the starter is disabled. Also gave the gearbox a couple of changes between Park and Neutral just in case but no luck.

Don't know if this will help or even if its connected in any way but I had a short from a chaffed wire on O2 sensor which blew fuse 26 I had the lights on dash showing but it wouldn't turn over , check that fuse as its part of engine management system

Yes you have cracked it its running. I was thinking to hard again instead of being logical.
