P38 Remote receiver

Hi, my P38 has the old type RF receiver which causes the battery to drain every 2-3 days. I have been offered an ALR5020 secondhand...

Is this the newer version?

It doesn't match with ANY part numbers i've found on here, perhaps it's out of a non-uk model?

Any ideas?

The number I have for the new one is YWY500170. You can do a test to see if it is the receiver before you buy one. You can remove the aerial wire from the receiver. It is the wire that goes to the window glass not the 3 pin plug.
This stops it picking up the stray signals. Your remote will still work fine.
It gives you a chance to see if the becm will stay asleep.


Just had chance to check that number and it is old. I can see it listed for 1995

Forget it,the part you need - the only decent part is YWY500170.
