OK, I'll come clean I am really, really  How on earth do you get the rear wiper blade arm off so the motor can be extracted. My printed LR manual neglects to tell me.

Can some one here tell me?

turn the rear wiper on, when its in the middle of the screen turn the ignition off.

If you do that it parks.

Start the wiper and open the tailgate when the wiper is at the mid point and it will stop. Turn off the ignition but don't completely close the tailgate.
Flip up the cover and undo the nut to remove the arm:D

do you need a new motor? only asking cos i got one you are welcome to..:)

Are you sure it's your motor? I had a non functioning rear wiper a little while ago. When I eventually got it out, it wasn't functioning because it was seized up. Dismantled / cleaned and lubricated and has been fine ever since. It did take a little while to come back on after though. I'm not sure whether the BeCM detects an overload and disables it. I didn't do anything to re-enable it other than switch it on/off a few times.
Good luck

Ah! well this is the point, I can't seem to get the cover off, like all P38s my wiper is 'hidden' under the top of the tailgate, so getting in to it to remove the cover isn't the easiest of tasks. Or am I just missing something here.
