My fathers rear driver side door would close but door latch not work to keep close so he locked with remote. Now rear door won't unlock. You can hear the lock motor operating but unable to open, all other doors locking and unlocking, any advise on how to open door would be much appreciated.

If it is super locked you may have to remove the card and connect a battery directly to the door lock mechanism.
It could also cause an eka lock out the car will think its being tampered with.
Mine did this.

Your father has a rear side door?
seriously it migh help if you ga
If superlocked, any ideas on how to open and replace lock?
Super lock is activated by a motor so it ought the be possible to un super lock it with direct power application. I have never tried it though. Need to look at RAVE for the wiring.

Only a pulse though. Leave it connected to 12V and it will burn out PDQ.

After stripping the door card.
Look at the wires going to the motor assembly and use a small 12v battery.
I had a ride on Lawnmower battery to hand and directly powered the lock to unlock it.
After that I stripped the mechanism down and somehow disabled the superlock.
It's never done it again in the 4yrs since.
If..... You don't feel confident doing it, don't. I wouldn't want you to cause further problems for your self if your not 100% sure.
If you get to the point were the card is removed and get someone who has more knowledge to help or if your good and confident, try it yourself. ;)

Hi
Was it a rear door that you had your super-locked problem, if so can you remember which wires you placed on the battery

Diagram from RAVE. Wires appear to be Pink, Orange and Orange/Pink on both doors.

Dunno which polarity to lock or unlock ?? @martyuk will probably know.

Looks like o k I'm guessing Orange /pink and black are the wires for the superlock but wether you power the black or the o/ k on e way will lock and the other will unlock trial and error.
Hi
Yes I can see what you mean

Was reading another old thread which you did comment about 10years ago.....'fuzzie splodge' used a phone charger in the cigarette lighter.....he removed the phone end stripped the wires then connected them to the orange and black wires to the motor then turn ignition on......unlocked the door

The cigarette lighter only has power when the ignition is on.assuming that when the lock was plugged into the wiring harness and it superlocked, to unlock it you will have to ground the Orange pink wire and flash the black with power to reverse the s/l motor. Good luck.
