p38 parcel shelf wont fit

Today i got a bargain ( or so i thought) . After buying a diff for my p38 i was offerd a parcel shelf for £10. Great i thought. Got home and it wont fit as its not wide enough.
Did early 1996 models have different shelfs to newer models.
All side panels and pins are on my car.
Please help
 
Did the cars with the stereo kit and bass bin in the boot have a narrower shelf?


Don't ask me, I'm not that posh.

Looks this one will be up for sale soon.
Well fed up as i thought i had got a bargin for an imaculate shelf. Turns out it wasnt
 
parcel shelf is the same size thru out the range including with/without sub, sat nav, etc, I got to p38s 1 with sub, satnav etc and 1 without anything and got 3 shelfs and they all go in any of the vehicles
 
Thanks. I had the diff off the same p38 and that was a perfect match but the parcel shelf is wrong.
Ive got the side psnels in my car with the pins sticking on top. The shelf has little cutouts to tske pins but it isnt wide enough.
Does snyone have pics of there shelf and fitting just in case something is missing off mine.

Does anyone have pics of there parcel shelf on a p38 early or late model so as i can check the fittings on mine as it wont fit.
Please please help
 
I cant belive that no one has any info or pics of there parcel shelf and how it fits to the p38. The shelf ive got has only 1 set of pin cut outs yet my p38 has 2 sets of pins.
Any help would be greatfully recived

I have a '99 and a '97. Both parcel shelves are the same but both have the CD changers.I will post some photos tomorrow when it is daylight.
 
Are you sure it is not from a Classic??

It is now 2330 and dark out so, no pics....

The P38 from beginning to end all had the same size and fitment of parcel shelf.

The models without subs and the rest of the posh stuff still had the same width, it is just the space underneath isn't filled with anything.

The Classic shelf is single hinged, whereas the P38 is double hinged....

I have done a very quick goooooooogle search and found tese images....maybe a similar search by yourself may dig up further information.

It does not seem to be the correct shelf does it?

This has cleard it all up. Looks like ive been sold an imaculate parcel shelf in grey for a bloody classic not a p38.
I dont suppose these go for much not like the p38 ones do.
Baffles me where all the p38 shelfs go to.
