Hi all

I am new! I have similar problem and desperately need help, overheating.
have changed thermostat, drained and bled system and instructed, changed water temp sensor as broken, car runs normally foa about 10 mins then whoosh into red and steam everywhere, top pipe warm but does seem quite stiff!

Any help with next steps is appreciated, based North wales

if its gas, isolate the tanks at the valves or take out the electrical connection and tape it up, the one on the solenoids that control gas flow!

run the gas out and use on petrol see if it still happens. just switching to petrol wont work.

i will guess that one or more liners have slipped!!!

Sounds like what happened with my DT, only I ended up with a split radiator as the first symptom:eek:. Turned it was the water pump, the plastic impeller had disintegrated, (there's a pic in my albums). Managed to get a replacement pump with metal impeller to avoid it happening again. (Motorparts Direct, about £50. It's worth specifying the metal impeller incase they use different suppliers with different specs.)

if its water pump you can get one from island 4x4 for less than 30 quid!

I'd still aim to get one with the metal impeller as it should last far longer, the bearings will probably go before it breaks. Plastic gets brittle quite easily, especially exposed to heat and chemicals, and makes no sense to me as a material fit for purpose.

they are metal, i bought one and its fine, i spraypainted the impeller with some plasticote rust inhibitor paint (same stuff i use on the black plastics on the car) with a view to reduce the onset of rust, at 30 quid i'm not that bothered if i need one every 12 months!
