Hi Guys, Just thought I would share this with you.

Did a 40 mile trip to see daughter and grand children the other night.Went to drive home to find my P38 4.6 HSE with flashers permanently on and turned key and dead as a dodo.

RAC guy arrives tries EKA code etc . car now totally immobilized and after a half an hour and messages and bleeping gives up making usual comments about P38s.Tow truck arrives and takes it to Mansfield 4 x 4 in Bury St Edmunds.By this time it's 2 am and really peed off. Looked at this forum as I do regularly and got really depressed with the thought of mega bills to come.
Get a call later in the day from Mansfield expecting the worse only to hear that it's all sorted.
Apparently it was just a case of starter relay contacts corroded.
Ok this is where you professionals tell me that they could have told me that. I just felt it might be useful for non mechanics like me to not always fear the worst.
I have to say that if anyone owns a P38 or any Land Rover these guys have always been great. This is my 4th P38 which I have owned now for 3 years and touch wood has cost very little. No I haven't got shares in Mansfield but I think once you find a garage like this you ought to spread the word.
