For the 4.0 Thor engines:

NGK BP6ES or the suppressed one, BP6RES.

Recommended plug is Champion RC11PYPB4, We use Champion 7138 which is a direct equivalent.

I'd say so, the NGK's aren't bad, but all double-platinum types are good for the Rover V8's.

Put some Copaslip on the threads when you change the plugs, not a big blob but a decent smear round the threads so they don't stick in the head.

We've used those Champions for over 10000 miles now and they've been fine.

I have a the 2.5 4cylinder petrol defender. Where can I get platinum spark plugs for it and which ones do I need to use?

I use NGK laserline lpg plugs on my disco Thor engine, perfect! The original platinum plugs lasted only 15.000 km on LPG! The laserlines have 30k on now, still no problems.

wow, that would be about 5 years on the amount of miles I do in my Defender. I'll definately have to take a look. Thank you once again
