There was YouTube clip where a bloke relocated the coil packs to a more sensible spot in the engine bay.
Can't find it now though.

I have just been reading a long fred on another forum about putting them in a more "big hand" friendly place. There was YouTube clip where a bloke relocated the coil packs to a more sensible spot in the engine bay.

As I remember it, he put a plate on a bracket so the coil packs were in the space near the battery box. High enough up to keep them dry and readily accessible; and it could all be demounted if required for other servicing.I have just been reading a long fred on another forum about putting them in a more "big hand" friendly place.
Not related to this thread. But it dont arf make sence.

Not at the back of the engine where there's no air flow, then?Protection from the heat is a definite plus![]()
That plug looks ancient and also dead!! I hope you replaced them allthe leads were changed with new ones when I made the data diagnostic , I just swap the leads 1-6 connectors at the coil side not at the plug side. so for me the coil is faulty not the new leads.
I believe that an electric problem occurred on that coil as my old cylinder 1 plug and lead were badly corroded and the plug end was cracked..

yes I did all plugs ... only this plug was corroded and cracked, wondering where come from this crack...That plug looks ancient and also dead!! I hope you replaced them all
do I need to replace gasket when removing the upper manifold?Maybe it was damaged before it was put in and got worse over time. Or maybe someone you aggressive removing a plug lead - they can be very difficult if left for a long time..
It's MUCH easier to remove the upper manifold, at least the first time you do it then you can see what you're doing better.
You can check the coils for resistance, i think they should be 10-12kohms, if i remember. But that's only a guide, it doesn't tell you how they perform when they get hot and under load etc
It's a metal gasket, it's ideal to replace it because you don't want any kind of air leak there.do I need to replace gasket when removing the upper manifold?
should I clean or change particular elements , do preventive maintenance under the upper manifold to prevent other failure?
I don't actually know where they are mounted as standardNot at the back of the engine where there's no air flow, then?
Bolted onto the rear of the plenum/lower manifoldI don't actually know where they are mounted as standard![]()
Can you see this position is not best, Gems engine but Thor same place.I don't actually know where they are mounted as standard![]()
