I keep getting the battery low warning on the dash with my main keyfob even after fitting new batteries. Then after a couple of days (or even 1 day) the fob stops working. Fit new batteries and we're back to step one.

You can see the red light when I press the open / closed buttons but it isn't on constantly and appears to be working fine.

Any clues as to why the power is draining out?

I have a second key that works fine but the key is broken where it would attatch to a fob so I tend not to use that so much. Is it easy to transfer the 'guts' from one key to the other? I looked at opening the fob up last week but didn't want to force it open!

Just check the # on the actual battery's that you replaced first, with the # of the one fob that works (presuming its the old battery) found it battery # CR2025 part # STC 1853

Cheers for the reply Dopes, but I changed batteries in both fobs with new ones and one fob is fine and the other ain't!!! Grrrrr!

And I'm using CR 2025's.

The contacts on the diff fob could be shorting our poor connection, draining the battery .. plus don't put greasy finger marks on them .... It deteriorates the batterys
