p38 jack bar

Was advised im missing the bar for my p38 bottle jack, luckily ive never had to use it, i have the actual bottle jack, and the red bar with curved end, but that doesnt fit , ive tried ebay but nothing, but found pics of ajack with a p38 for sale that has that same red bar curved end, and 2 other bars, is that correct ?> ie im 2 bars missing ?

can anyone help me out where to buy them from or anyone whos got any they want to sell to a good home ? , as ideally want o buy cheap used as opposed to brand new

Visit a breakers...easier and cheapest way to get your missing parts.

If it was me i would just buy a new 2t bottle jack for 15 squids. Plenty around and nowhere near as expenaive as trolley jacks. I might even consider a 3t for extra safety.

Brand new jack is the best way.and cheapest

where would you buy a bottle jack for 15 ? would it fit in the foam tray thing ?

as i only need the bar(s) for the jack,thought maybe someone would have one laying around for cheap,who breaks p38s etc and keep it all original, as the jack is nice condition

A pair of pliers and a bar is free pliers to turn the screw and tube bar to pump up and down .

The original equipment jack is a triple lift short body type and has a "Vee" top to enable it to be located safely under the axle tube for wheel changing.
Replacement bottle jacks from Machine Mart etc. have a flat circular top and tend to have a longer body, there is no way they should be used to jack up the car located underneath the axle tube
You should be able to get the handle(s) from any Landy breaker..I think the Disco's use the same jack as the Rangie. From memory, I think the handles do in fact consist of three parts

ok thanks, as above ideally i just need the 2 bars, in this listing it shows 3 bars, i have the red far left one, the jack,and spanner, just need those 2 other bars

thats £45 delivered , i already have the jack and the bar to the left , hence wanting just the bar(s)

bound to be one sat un used un needed in a boot of a breaker somewhere, someone on here must have one, hence the thread

It's only a tube with slots buy a tube and put some slots in it ...,

Data, while your looking at/in the s/dog do you have a transfer case ecu for a manual box by any chance???

Sorry, not been able to get into the boot today, I normally leave it unlatched so it will open without a battery. The gales must have shut it, have put the battery on charge for tomorrow.

now im clear about which bar your missing - I've never used that one on mine (Doesnt mean you can have it! ) The lever is far too long and when jacking the axle from front/rear it just bangs on the spoiler and bumper and is more of a hindrance.

I suspect in this P.C world its for those more of a slight frame who may struggle...

I get on fine and quicker with the one large jack release bar

i only have 1 bar- the one with the curved end- and that doesnt fit in the jack !!! - hence the problem, i need a bar that works and can use...

Sorry, no bar or jack in the spares dog! Never looked before, spare is good though
