Hi all I wonder if you can help, my p38 has gone into Diagnostic mode ...What is it?
there are all sorts of things happening eg.

No alarm noise from Dashboard. (beeps)
No central locking
No alarm / immobiliser
No access to petrol filler
No noise from indicators

car runs ok

how do I fix this problem?

thanks
Cess.

Hmmm, I presume the OP, Cess, means his message center is displaying "Diagnostic Mode"? I have only ever seen it display this when I have FaultMate connected and talking to the BeCM. Sounds like the BeCM has got itself in a muddle. Try a battery off reset? Ensure you have the radio and EKA codes to hand, and the window/sunroof reset procedure too.

Oi! Cess, or do we call you Mr. Pit.

Unless you come back and give us a few more clues you're not going to get much help.

Oh and amend your personal details to give us a location.
You could be round the corner from a P38 expert but we'll never know.

Hi yeah my surname is Pitt the knickname started at school,
Im located in STALYBRIDGE cheshire,

it does display diagnostic mode in the message centre

il try the battery off reset tomorrow and let you know

many thanks
Cess (pitt)

Fair play to you Mr. Pitt, you certainly flattened me. I won't be telling how I got my name!

Obviously your electronics have got confused. It might be inside the BECM but before you blame it and whilst you've got your battery off have a look at;
under bonnet fuse box - checking for any signs or smells of burning, especially around the relays
OBD port - up by the passenger's feet, look for damage, damp, corrosion or broken wiring
BECM - under the driver's seat, again look for damage, loose connections, corrosion or whatever.

If there's nothing to be found and the 'battery off' doesn't cure it then you might want to talk to IRISHROVER or RICKTHEPICK our resident BECM experts before you go much further.

Welcome to LandyZone

Thanks Dogsbody and Alan C, just disconnected battery and all reset fine
also checked fusebox under bonnet and all seems fine there too...

still could do with knowing any RR experts near me for future electrical probs...

thanks again
Cess (Pitt).
