I think data meant the car, IIRC the disco r380 and the p38 r380 are slightly different, sure its something to do with selector housing

box is basically the same but a disco box or any other wont fit, apart from input shaft bell housing ,selector housing, rear housing and mainshaft length are different

Thanks looks like il have to bite the bullet on a p38 box was hoping that the disco box would have fit cos they are alot cheaper

Think becm can be changed with right gear to make it think its a auto
