p38 gear box help needed???????

Hi can anybody help with this problem,iv'e got a 2001 dhse auto and i want to change the gearbox oil but can't find out how you measure the correct level in it, because unlike the disco i had before there is no dip tube. can any body shed some light on this for me, there must be a procedure for doing this only i don't know it.

does it have a level plug on the side??

Land rover removed the the dip stick because of all the dipsticks over filling the g/box. Checking the level involves having it running and to be honest a four post ramp so's you can undo the level plug and fill it or let out oil if required which really annoys me. But the local boy's checked it for free while it was in for other pointless maintanence.
