So viscous coupling arrives and I look into how to fit it and see there are special two tools required, LRT-12-093 and 094, to renmove and refix fan.
Has anyone mamaged to do this with coventional tools as I woukld like to avoid putting her into RR just for this.
Thanks

If it's a V8, you will need a 36mm spanner for the fan nut, just give the spanner a few sharp taps to loosen the nut. It's a standard right hand thread...looking at the fan from the front of the car...anti clockwise to undo it. I've had mine undone many times and have never used a "Holding" tool. 36mm fan spanners are available from most car accesory shops, including Halfraudsif you don't have that size.

Many thanks for advice
Tried Hafords and biggest theydo is 34mm.....typicalBought big adjustable job from B&Q
cam off easy with the quick sharp jab approach.
Seems to be working fine but of course as its the hotest day of the year my AC has decided not to work....love her really.
Looka like no gas so compressor not kicking in. mmmm had her filled last year so I guess there is a leak somwhere.
Cheers

Help. I've got to remove this tomorrow along with intercooler, radiator to replace oil coolers.

Question is wiil a big 36mm spanner work on the diesel version as well?

Thanks for that, lol.

What I meant was, is the deisel a 36mm nut like the V8 or different, you can never tell with LR what added complications there maybe.

Was also wondering if need some sort of specialist flat spanner.
