P38 Diesel injection pumps

Hi Guys

Does anyone know if they P38 injection pump (mechanical) is interchangeable? I have a sync mate so can resync them, but are there any other side effects from swapping a pump over?

If it's a pump of the same type there is no problem interchanging it. It is not a straight forward job to do though. You need special a tool to hold sprocket in place and special tools to do spill timing. So it is not a diy task. Unless you have a couple of hundred quid for the tools that is, or you can borrow them.
