P38 diesel hse started fine until cold weather 3 weeks ago. Went to start and flattened battery. Put jump leads on tuned over nearly started but then got a high pitched whirring sound from engine.
Tried again next day no joy, suspected in tank pump...replaced unit...fuel to injection pu.p but no fuel at injectors.....HELP...
THANKS

Flat battery could mean loss of sync between the BECM and the EDC, it will need diagnostics.
The original problem was probably duff glow plugs, they will start with up to 2 duff plugs in warm weather but, depending on which cylinders, not in cold weather.

Take the fuel filter off, jug underneath and crank it to see if fuel is coming through, if it is clear clean oil then change the filter. Fill the new filter with diesel before fitting it. You really need a sample jar of your veg ,that's in the tank, outside on a wall or something where you can easily see it.
Or twin tank it.

Fuel is getting to fip just not to I injectors new filter was fired and primed even tried neat diesel into feed pipe to pump...

Don't jump for the fip before you investigate the rest of the system 😬 @Datatek said BUNGED not buggered!!!
Now I know you're on vegi I used to run my 300tdi on vegi and one cold snap it went thick in the injector pipes. With 2 hot hair dryers blowing over the pipes and pump for about 30 mins it got everything flowing again and engine started. Make sure all your glow plugs are working. Beru or NGK are good plugs to use. Best of luck
