Hello, recently purchased aforementioned vehicle and have a few issues. To start you have to let the glow plug light go out three times and crank after the third, it was suggested that it was the glow plug relay as the plugs are new.
Also I know it's another topic but should the air suspension raise level or the front or back first? Many thanks, Gaz.

air suspension should do back first and front last. but should evenly raise rear and evenly raise front not a corner at a time.

Although the plugs maybe new that does not mean they are working. Sounds like some may not be. Rear always rises first.

Thanks for the replies, I don't know what brand the plugs are, typically don't have access to the car atm but I'll let you know what happens.

If you bought the RR and someone told you there new plugs, well trust or not, that's kinda for you to make you mind up, but me I would change them for a GOOD brand, NOT a cheap price (you live and learn) some things you just dont skimp on

When the glow plug light is on the in-tank fuel pump is also running. Don't get fixated on your glow plugs it might be that the pump or some pipework is knackered.

Start, after it's been parked up for a good while, by looking for air bubbles in the clear fuel pipe by the FIP. This can either indicate a poor in-tank pump or leaking injector leak-off pipes, either of which can affect the starting.

To test the pump try filling the tank to half or more (assuming that you can afford it) and see if the starting improves. If so then it's your in-tank pump that's either not producing pressure or letting the fuel run back through a split in the pipework in the tank.

Oh, and put a location in your details, there might be a friendly owner close by who could be bribed (usually cuppas and expensive biscuits) to help you out, we're a funny bunch us Landy drivers.

Cheap glowplugs do not work in the M51 engine:)

Ok thanks again, I know it's off topic but mine has front fogs fitted but no button on the dash, I heard the diesel can't have them? If I can is it possible to fit the switch and use them? Cheers Gaz.

If you've got an auto then the gearbox cooler is right behind the nearside foglight. There should be a grille not a light there.
However, if you're not towing, climbing mountains or crossing the Sahara you might want to chance it. You'll have to get the correct switch then get the circuit turned on in the BECM.
