Number 4 injector connector or wire trapped by the manifold is something I have seen reported after the manifold has been off.. Maybe the timing is out too.

lol did have a trapped wire but changed injector for my origional 1 still the same{forgot to say changed complete head including injectors from a 525 bmw} starts ok and revs but seems sluggish and as i mentioned strange rattle around pump area at around 2500 revs plus

I'd check the static timing, or as you have diagnostics, check the modulation with the engine warm at idle.

Yes could be.

Did you do the work?

If the rattle is around the FIP sprocket then not good sign, not much better if it’s around cyl1 either though :(
Check inj4 is plugged in properly and wire is not snagged. When you take injector in/out the wire twirls around with the window socket. It is imperative to not damage or pull on the cable at all, they get weak with age and heat. Cable can be repaired, sensor cannot.
The light on dash is the engine management light - the one you don’t want on.

You really need Wammers

bought the cam and locking pin kit but cam still seemed to move as you locked it up so maybe im out with the cam slightly but could this cause the rattle at the diesel pump end ??

As mentioned in your original thread - what Wammers doesn’t know about these is not worth knowing. He’s an elderly gent with green oval in his blood, spent decades helping others on this forum. Hel be along, pay attention to what he says and you won’t go wrong :)

I Don’t blame him, he has us to put up with :)

Type in ‘injector 4’ - posts by ‘wammers’ in to the search bar, watch how many million times he’s explained it come up ;)

Jedwood is also good but man of few words, til he gets the nanocom out :D  His threads are harder to find but they are there
