Hi Everyone,

Im going to change the interior in my 1999 p38 from cloth to leather. The cloth seats i have in and not electric and the set i have brought are. Does anyone know if the wiring already in for the seats or will i have to buy a loom?

also i know i have to buy the heater buttons, is there anything else??

thanks guys

Let me know how u get on
i have leather but with manual adjustment but heated

also got a P38 project with the full leather electric adjustable etc

pondering on swapping the interior, havent done it yet in case i nedd to swap BECM, which i am not keen on doing

yawns sticker on bcem tells you if you can or can't try the search feature

if the becm is highline(indicated on the sticker as said) then you can put leccy seats in, you will need the leccy seat loom, its a bag to get out, the clips are horrendous but worth the hassle.

do you have a white line down the side of the car? you know the coach line type thing that goes front to back?

as for swapping cloth for leather, the leather and cloth are the same cut so you can swap leather on to cloth carcass if you need to. i have done grey leccy seat carcass to brown leather upholstery (non leccy) so i could have brown leather leccy seats!!

Just had a bit of a search around the forum

Dont belive mine will be possible to swap
1 is a 2.5dse the other a 4.6hse gems engine ( blown bought as a project)
Which also buggers up the project of diesel conversion:frusty::smash:

Hi,

Right, i have had a look at the becm under the drivers seat. the sticker on the side above the fuses doesnt say anything about Highline. just serial numbers and so forth.

am i looking in the right place? also, i know there are problems with changing the Becm but can it be replaced with a second hand unit, or is it a little to much hassle?

thanks for your help

Hi,

No there is no white coach line down the outside of the car, only the plastic trim 2 3rds of the way down the doors.

Thanks Gav,

Right, its looking like i dont have the highline in the car, so next question, i can get a highline unit but have been told it migh not be a case of just pluging the unit in? do you know if this is right?

again thanks for the help,
