The bonnet is closed firmly both catches , but warning is up on the dash and that annoying intermittent beep. I assume there is some kind of micro switch somewhere that is sending a false signal , can someone give me some guidance please . Thanks

The "Switch" is in the OS "drivers side" bonnet latch assembly..

I seem to remember they can throw a wobbly sometimes.

What would the switch look like and where in the region of the offside /drivers side would I find it ?

The switch is wired so it provides the earth when the bonnet is open

A free fix is to disconnect the switch and it'll turn the warning off, not ideal but will work

Could also be a sticking cable/latch causing the issue..

Try lubing them both up..

Also there is a small metal tab on the latch it often gets up the fizz try bending it back towards the microswitch..

Sorry Henry if I sound thick but I can't see any micro switches inside the latch just a load of grease and two springs . Also there is no attachment for any wiring , or am I missing something ?

The Microswitches and connector should be in the latch adjacent to the battery..

Here.

It's not there ill have a look tomorrow when its light and see if I can find it its not inside the latch . At least I know what I'm looking for now , thank you.

If you disconnect you may get alarm fits. They usually just fill up with crap, contact cleaner or similar would probably clean it out. I have taken mine out an cleaned them up few times after having same problem. Hasn't come back. There is also adjusters on the pins, you can tell if they are out by the gap in the panel between bonnet/wings
