P38 alarm problem. Again..

Good morning all.
Last few nights the alarm has gone off on my car. Yesterday I could not start the darling, because the battery gone flat. The display on the dash, before the battery died, told me, that the engine disabled...Tried the EKA code, but no joy. Than the power gone. Before this the display told me, that the alarm been activated due to the bonnet sensor. Where is this sensor? I was looking for it, but can only see a wire going under the heat cover on the bonnet, on the pass. side.
Any ideas please?

Would be somebody just be able to tell me where is the bonnet opening sensor on my 1995 P38? Been looking all over, but no joy....

The bonnet sensor micro switch is incorporated into the O/S bonnet catch.

just stick a 5pence on it, that will stop it..

Thanks gents. Will go and have a look. And see, if her ladyship would like to start this time...Tells me, that I have key code lock out. Just got to love it. Tried the code, but no joy...

what year is your car? is it petrol..

1995 4,6 HSE the lady. Now she even started for me, after doing the ritual with the key! It is a nice day after all...Just let`s hope, that the battery will not go down again...

Can not find the abover mentioned bonnet catch. O/S would mean driver side. Do you mean the spring loaded ones? There is two of them and one pullable thing in the middle.
Help!

I get engine disabled message when I have cranked the engine a few times and the battery starts to go flat. I clip on a booster pack, message goes and then its ok and the engine starts ok.

Remove battery cover, for ease remove grille and slam panel. Although this is not really required just gives a little more room. Undo two 6mm bolts holding O/S catch in place (10mm socket). If you riddle catch out of way, you will see down through hole catch was in, is a plug. That is the bonnet closed/open plug. You will need a pair of sniped nose pliers to disengage it from it's base. You should then be able to wriggle bonnet catch out to see a micro switch underneath it. That is bonnet switch.

Thanks for that. I was looking for something more like the usual sensor. But why make it simple, when it can be complicated. Now the battery charged she is happy again, for now anyway...
