Just fitted new aircon compressor on 1997 P38. Also new is dual and single pressure switches. When engine is switched on refrigerant spurts out of pressure release valve located on tube linking condenser and compressor. Any idea what the problem might be ! I am a long way from any Kwick Fit workshop (Central Mozambique). Would apreciate anyones input

Mechanic seem to think its fine, but will remove and clean, also checking all pipes are free of blockages and blowing out the condenser and cleaning it.

Well when aircon is required compressor compresses refridgerant which is forced through expansion valve to expand and create cooling. If the expansion valve is blocked this cannot happen. However there should also be a pressure switch that stops compressor if system pressure is too high. One of those you have just fitted. Have a look around. Could be too much refridgerant in system. Or moisture or air.

Have found the blockage - it is the condenser unit. Have tried to blow and flush with solvent through both entry and exit holes, but will not budge. Not even a wiff of air getting through. Have left some solvent in the hope that it loosen the blockage up, and will try blowing again later.

If you have a blocked condensor you can bet there will be **** everywhere in the system. Specially if the compressor seized up. Get it flushed and cleaned properly. Then vacced down and filled properly with oil and refidgerant. If you don't your new compressor won't last long.
