Alright,

Quick question to hopefully quell my paranoia, this morning when it was about 6 degrees C outside and chucking it down, I noticed exhaust vapours when pulling off or on step down whilst on my 12 mile drive to work.

This was just initial plumes when setting off and some steady vapour on tickover... is this normal or am I going to start crying and pointing towards head gasket?

Regards,

Diehard

In my Classic with LPG....

In the cooler damp weather, when running on Gas, the exhaust vapour was more noticable....I think this is due to the moisture content of burnt LPG....

It shouldn't be anything to worry about aslong as it is white and fluffy, not black or blue or smelly...

All internal combustion engines make noticable amounts of water vapour in cold damp conditions. Specially just after start up it is quite normal.

I was speaking to Turners a while back about LPG and 4.6's ...... it was something I was looking at.
There comment was that although it's cheaper etc etc etc ... thay have a workshop full of heads for re-manufacture from LPG motors. Something about valve seats if I recall.
After 5 years it may be time for some head re-freshing .....:)
