This is a common problem I think, and has no doubt been addressed many times - but any hints and tips gratefully received.
I had a new windscreen fitted and got the fitters to leave off the lower trim pieces so I could clean the scuttle and remove 25-years worth of Japanese leaves etc etc. Fired up our leaf blower and got showered in debris..! Nice and clean in there now.
Looks like originally there was a foam sheet under the grille, long gone. I cleaned the residue off the wire holder and painted it. The clips are rusted beyond reuse.
Stainless perforated sheet, even 1mm, is difficult to shape to the curve. Aluminium sheet will no doubt corrode. Plastic mesh seems too flimsy.
Is there a Landyzone solution to this problem? I am sure there will be something out there......thanks..!

I have done both mine with perforated aluminium sprayed black. It's lasted for years so far. Details & photo's if you wish.

I like the perforated aluminium solution. It would be good to have some detail, particularly how you fixed it in place. Many thanks...

I bought the aluminium last year and it is on my to-do list somewhere.
 
Thanks - looks like a really good solution.
On the fixing (using the existing wire frame) my original steel edge clips are shot, but in any case they would hold the wire a little too far from the perforated sheet as they are set for a thicker foam panel.
Did you use the original clips?
I am thinking of using small self-tappers or M3 bolts/nuts into the plastic tongues - any comments on that or on the method you used..?

The wire frame worked fine on both mine, I maybe bent the clips a bit.
