Just trying to identify the alternator on my Japanese import 1997 P38 4.0SE.
The label is under the mounting hinge and I don't want to unbolt it just yet.
Seems original (~90k miles).
The label says DAN016 and 3341 24003E
There is also some Russian (Cyrillic) text saying "... in Italy" (Made in Italy?)
The manual says it should be a Marelli / Lucas A133
The P38 is Right Hand Drive, and was supplied new in Japan, so not for the Russian (LHD) market.
Most odd - anyone have any thoughts on this?

Easy job to remove on the V8 to look at the label.

Nah, I would not disturb it (and the serpentine belt) just to see the label. Maybe the Russian label will be forever a mystery, known only to some production line assembly workers in Solihull.
