Hi All,
Whilst I'm waiting for my slow connection to download the RAVE manual, has anybody experienced the above code?
Today my wife did the school run, stopped on a hill and struggled to manouver and park. This is as I see it because it won't select 1st gear.
The RAC man did a diagnostics check, which was P0763 Shift Solenoid C Electrical. He cleared the fault, but as soon as you put it back into 'D' , the amber hill descent fault lamp comes on and it can't pull away in what I suspect is probably 4th gear. The fault code immediately reappears.
Fortunately, when selecting '1' it pulls away and you can manually shift it. You can't use the tiptronic, because it just doesn't operate in 'D'.
Where can I find solenoid C? Is it external to the box with a plug, or is it a valve inside the box? Any info and photos would be much appreciated as I need the car asap. She won't drive it manually shifting.

Thanks

You will find it on rave, it is under fluid pan mounted on front of auto box not sure which one there are several.

Thanks sabc. I did download it last night, but can't open it!!
Took off the boost pipes tonight and unplugged the cable that goes to the selector on the top of the gearbox. Reconnected and drives lovely with no faults!!
Not sure what the problem was now, as I didn't try it before removing the said parts above, so it could have reset itself over night???? We'll see.

regards,scott

Unplugging and remaking a connection has been known to cure many 'faults'. Capilliary attraction sucks in moisture between the pin and its receptical, and in time the connection fails. Removing and re-inserting wipes the dirt/corrosion from the connector and restores functionality. Useful to give a squirt of WD40 or similar while it is apart to clean and lubricate to maintain protection.

Going to do them all at the w/end. Can't believe I've had the car for 2 years now and it's been the best car I've ever owned for reliability. Just tyres and front brake pads.
Then this went and happened!
Fingers crossed it'll be fine again now.
