Hi posted earlier c shift error on auto gearbox getting F4 and flashing traction control.

Checked all cables and solenoids as per other member posts. No problem so changes cshift solenoid.

Rechecked cables from AT connector next to ecu connector to the round connector after separation.

Wire from AT connector Pin 52 to Round 18 pin connector.

Is it possible to remove pins from the round 18 pin connector.

Or can you simply run a wire from Pin 52 to the 18 pin round connector.

Not found the exact break point yet.

Any Suggestions

Thank you in anticipation.

Problem still present. Can cycle through all gears ok no problems, if go into sport will go into first ok but moving up the box in manual sport problem comes up as it goes into second.

All auto changes fine when moving f4 usually comes on when slowing down

Had a historic c1151 in abs which is can bus failure.

Could the gearbox problem be caused by abs? If so what diagnostics would help.

Someone outside of landyzone suggested a loose reluctor ring but not getting an abs error.

At a poss now help greatly appreciated.

Thank you in anticipation.

Hi Thanks for the reply, I got no replies to my first post as a newbie and couldnt see how to expand the post with no replies. Was a little puzzled incase the original post wasnt seen as Landyzone has been very helpful for other posts thought I did something wrong sorry to all out there if I did.

Car is a late 2002 freelander 1 TD4 Auto ES.

Thanks

I ain't no good with auto boxes.

Auch Deutsch motor.

Those frikin solenoids sound like torture to me.

Prefer a British diesel and gears meself. Mit kein common rail or hemorrhoids.

Oweva it sounds like a loose connection or summat to me - what with braking hard causing grief and other bits in the description. Summat along the lines of this...

Incidentally, I'm not sure a late 2002 MY03 Teves Mk25 would have reluctor rings.

Having said all this, me newly acquired F2 is an auto furren diesel, and they do say that Land Rovers have been turning owners into mechanics for 75 years

So, give us a couple of years and I'll tell you exactly whats fu broke.

Yeah agree with that had freelander for 4 years and been into mechanics I never dreemed of. The car has always reported codes which representd the failure. Unless Ive i stalled a duff c shift theres something else afoot here, abs throws the c1151 can failiure with instrument can bus.

I can read and set all the lights dash functons etc so am assuming abs is not getting wheel info to box. My autel reader shows test for only three of the wheels no test on near side rear will have to run live data on abs see what comes up as well as check all wiring to ecu, abs, instrument panel etc. No simple fix pn tbis one.

Thanks for your thoughts

You can get the pins out of the auto's barrel connector but its not easy due to access. You have to poke in somefink thin next to the pin to release it. Follow the length of wire looking for damage. You can do a wire repair but before cutting said wire, shave oft some insulation at each end and check resistance back to the connectors. Nowt worse than chopping a wire to find its open circuit back to the pin and not enough length left to connect to.
