i have a 1993 d90 200tdi and have fitted a transfer box from a 300tdi disco, all works fine but i find the gear now tall, does anyone know if the gear from the pto point from my d90 transfer box will fit into the disco one and if that'll lower the ratio back down?

you would need to change the two high gears to change the ratio,not the input gear,and chances are that 300 lt230 will be e suffix and have 28 tooth input gear while your old 90 one cwill have 26 teeth,unless the boxes are same suffix high gear change would mean more than the two high gears,most people prefer higher ratio

cheers for that, thought it wouldn't be straight forward. i just find going up hills were it was fine in 5th before i now need to change down and to drive along at 60 i'm using more throttle so more fuel boo lol, mite source another 90 one and do the gear box at the same time
