I reckon it could.
There's a socket for the feed cable on the right-hand side or at the back.
Do you have the exact dimensions.
I could measure it tomorrow if it helps.
Not going out again tonight as its -5 out there and dropping.

That's exactly where I thought about putting it. I'll post something when the one I've ordered arrives.

Sorry SV, missed your post. so the unit can be plugged in at side or back? that be interesting. Im thinking loose nic nac tray! Also wonder what data you would get from my 2001 K can bus.

No probs DD3.

The unit is 122mm long X 40mm high, and 25mm deep.

I'm not sure what info you might not get - my friend with a 2002TD4 cannot get all of the fuel consumption options.

I dont get the Transmission Fluid temperature - but I haven't really explored the X-guage features where you can ask for additional programmable features.

Didn't say there wasn't a counter, I know about that and use it quite a bit. But I don't really count that as a trip computer, it's a very basic function

The C class I owned prior to the LR only had a trip counter but it also came with its own inbuilt rust, glad to be rid of it

Sorry for reviving this post but I found the information regarding the ScanGuage 2 very interesting on this thread and also on others so much so that I have ordered one myself and it should be with me tomorrow.

I like where SV has fitted his SG, but was wondering where anybody else has fitted it and is there any pictures available to where you have fitted it.

mine's placed same as SV's ..

found these handy in keeping cables organised ..
Label The Cable Wall 10 Pack Black : Cable Ties : Maplin Electronics
( surface needs to be clean .. dry .. and relatively warm for them to stick properly )

Ok thanks for that. I've got to be able to put it in the wife's astra as well thou as she's having an intermittent EM light coming on, hopefully it will pick up the fault code when it's plugged in.

i was looking at the little shelf above the radio as a place to fix it but until I get it I don't really know at the moment.

LR were not exactly at the forefront of driver info systems when they decided what to fit to the FL1s. My 1982 BMW had masses of stuff which even BMW no longer fit on current models. I put over 350K on it so grew accustomed to an 'excess' of info and now misss having it.

I now have a 'Scanguage2' fitted permanently wired into the OBD socket on the Freelander which gives me a choice of 14 guages as well as a trip computer. It reads codes and can clear them too. It sits neatly at the bottom of the dials in front of the steering wheel.

Interested in one of these, if you can check and clear faults too. I have 04 plate, so i presume i can do that with no problems. Is it compatible to use in the UK???

Yes compatable for use in the UK. I think you can set the units yourself ie UK gallons instead of US gallons, and the like.

Got mine from Amazon UK for £118 with free delivery.
